The proportion of people of colour in Cabinet level posts may have something to do with the low level of visible minorities in Canada, around only 13 percent, whereas in the U.S. its more than twice that. ALso there are many prominent visible minority politicians, in all parties, if not at top level positions, than ones of importance, such as Michaelle Jean, Yolande James etc.
