Thanks for sharing your story. I accept that you’re a legitimate concerned citizen who supports nationalized health care.

But I have to take issue with this comment:

As for knowing about it, have you watched the news lately? It’s August recess and the reps are in town hitting the town hall circuit. I think everybody knows about it by now with all the sensationalist news coverage. Hardly a "secret" when it’s on every news station.

Yes, we know the reps are supposed to be doing town halls, but Davis specifically left this off of her official calendar and her staff in fact LIED to people who called up and asked if she had any public events coming.

Perhaps you got the heads-up e-mails well in advance because you are on Obama/DNC/other-left distribution lists. But those who aren’t on the privileged list didn’t have any way to find out about it. The average constituent would not have been able to hear anything about the event until late afternoon or early evening, by which time it would have been too late to try to leave work early and get in line.

I’m not suggesting the Hillcrest Town Council was anything other than an unwitting pawn in Davis’ cynical scheme.
