Who are we?

AgoraVox was initiated by the Cybion company. Cybion is a an independant limited company created by Carlo Revelli and Joël de Rosnay. Its shares belong in majority to its founders and it is not linked to any big industrial or financial group.

Cybion is the pioneer of Internet strategic watch in France, and it has been going for 10 years with private and public organizations in their economic intelligence moves. The Cybion expertise lies in the identification of sources, as well as on the collection and analysis of the information accessible on the visible and invisible Internet, thanks to original methodologies that allow to solve the main problems affecting the information on the Internet:

  the difficulty to identify information sources
  the lack of relevance of the information
  the reliability of the information
  the information renewal speed

The expertise of Cybion will be used for AgoraVox, mainly to identify and validate new relevant information sources (bloggers, associations, citizen...).

To provide companies with high added value strategic information, Carlo Revelli innovated in 1995 by using the Internet as a strategic watch tool, in particular by appealing to an emergent high technology : intelligent agents. The starting point was indeed that, in order to gather relevant and accurate information, there was the need to put together a true symbiosis between human experts, intelligent agents and search engines.

And it is Joël de Rosnay who came with the name Cybion, taken from thoughts originally developped in his book "L’homme symbiotique" (Seuil 1995) - The Symbotic man. By the name "Cybionte", he describes an under construction hybrid, biological, mechanical and electronic super-organism, that includes men, machines, networks, and companies. The principles underlying the Cybionte consists in having men, machines and computer networks interact.

Since its creation, Cybion tests every innovating tool in the field of research and strategic watch (search engines, directories, databases, intelligent agents), available on the market. The specificity of the Cybion offer is to associate this technological control with the human skills to analyse the collected information.
