Jean-Loup MSIKA

As a practising architect and town planner, I have always considered that the environmental appropriateness of each project was a major criteria, just as much as the urban, social, cultural, technical or economic relevances.
I have therefore lead an independent research on the urban form of the Sustainable City, and published, at the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and ADEME seminar, Sophia Antipolis, France, 1993, a proposal for "Passive Solar Housing in a Dense Urban Context".
I have subsequently endeavoured to develop specific Sustainable City projects for various sites in Scotland, France, Japan, ...

How do we attain energy independance? The electric car means more and more (impossible to manage) nuclear waste. Bioful, if produced on a massive scale, will lead to hunger, worldwide. In my article "The Sustainable City", on the same page, I am presenting a better solution, which would minimize daily migrations and dependency on the private cars, while benefiting social, cultural and economic background.
