Interesting theory Lemanu. I have never heard of this "Theorem of the Monkeys". One thing I do want to clarify is that I don’t believe the creation of Israel is the start of this mess. I believe that Israel has a right to exist and a right to portions of the Holy Land. That is without dispute. My point is that as long as we don’t have the Israeli and Palestinian problem resolved in terms of peace between the Israelis and its neighbors, then this constant tension will continue to simmer and occasionally turn into all out war as it did 2 years ago between Hezbollah in Lebanon and Israel with Syria and Iran supplying arms and rockets to the militants against Israel.

The situation with regional security in the Middle East as well as the cause celebre (like my French?) for global terrorism at its heart is based on the Israel/Palestine conflict. Solve that in earnest, and we solve many of the region’s nuclear, military, and terrorism threats. Also, by having peace between the Israelis and the Arabs/Iranians. other countries such as the US, Europe and others benefit in terms of security.

The issue I believe is that for too many of the world’s arms suppliers, it is BIG BUSINESS to keep the conflict in the Middle East going. Who else would buy all the weapons in the neighborhood if there was peace between Israel and its neighbors. Sadly, there is big money in wars and conflict. Unfortunately, if thngs escalate to the point where Iran or Syria or other countries openly and actively hostile to Israel ever get their hands on nuclear weapons, the world will be in a very precarious situation when a military conflict like the one in 2006 between Hezbollah and its backers in Tehran and Damascus gets out of hand quickly and goes nuclear. For that and many other reasons, we need to push for peace in the Middle East. That is the only solution to this very dangerous part of the world.

On another note, I do believe that Al-Qaeda exists and disagree with you on the point that it is a fictious organization. After all these idiots, are actively destroying my homeland of Pakistan along with both the Afghan and the homegrown Pakistani Taliban and countless other militant groups and terrorists.

Goozidi...the amount of aid to Israel is nearly $3 billion yearly, while it is nearly half that to Egypt at $1.4 billion. The entire US yearly budget is almost $3 trillion...we are not giving the whole US budget away to Israel.

On another note, does Israel even need aid? It is a very successful and rich nation. In fact, Israel’s GDP is higher than many current EU members!

No rap on Israel, cause too many Muslims do that already...I have no beef with Israel...I have said many times, that Israel has a right to exist and concession should be made to them and they should also make concessions...thats how the Israel/Palestine Conflict will be resolved...once and for all....and lets not kid ourselves...the Israeli and Arab conflict is at the root and probably cause of mabe 85% of the world’s terrorism...A

sk Osama Bin Laden or any terrorist for that matter, and they will almost always start with our complete support to Israel....the aid and the weapons that are then used to subdue the occupied people of Palestine,,,,,they will always point to this conflict as to why they are so upset with ALL the injustice in that part of the world, and the reason they picked up arms....

Don’t agree with it and just like I believe that Israel has a right to exist, I also believe that the Palestinians also have their own homeland and there be an end to the camps and squalid conditions that exist in the West Bank and Gaza....Its sad, but whenever I see footage of Gaza and the West Bank, I think of the Nazi concentration camps and the ones in Bosnia in the 90’s...in both instances, thin, frail, and dying people were caged like animals inside metal fences...sad that it now happening in the land of Moses, but this time the Israelites are the ones doling out the punishment to a nation of peoples....

I hope and pray that I can see peace in the mideast EVEN before peace between India and Pakistan...because deep down, I know that a peace between Israel and the Arabs will be even more important and vital than the one between India and Paksitan. God Willing it is around the corner, just behind some more clouds!!!

I agree with you James wholeheartedly. I too am dead set against War in general and continued conflict...however, I see why Afghanistan is so important to our strategic interests. Rather, I see how Pakistan is so vital to our national security.

Being a Pakistani American and having my parents and family there, I will say one thing. The hornets nest that is the Taliban, must be fought tooth and nail until eradicated. This enemy is not the kind we can rattle and make stronger, and then just walk away. It is at a great cost and sacrifice that many Pakistanis are now dealing with as the security situation has NEVER been this bad in nuclear Pakistan before.

Just this morning I got a call from my dad stating, that there was another bombing in Lahore today, my hometown. This was virtually not more than 10 miles from my parents home. This war comes home almost everyday for me and many others who have sons and daughters serving there. But the fight MUST go on until these barbarians are defeated and or killed.

I know, strong words from someone who manages a website called www.PakistanisforPeace.com but, I believe we must be as determined about defeating the Taliban and Al-Qaeda as the terrorists are about terror and mayhem!

Ah, my old friend Dobropet.....the one who only reads what their eyes want to read...and at times, read what is not even there....I challenge you to please re-read my article. Kindly, please point out to one paragraph, one line, one word, heck even one letter that attempts to cover ANY fact whatsoever...Your link leads to an interesting article on another website that states that the Jewish center was their main focus of attack in Mumbai,,,This may be or may not be true...,Whether that is the actual case or not, it is not the actual point of my article...I am more concerned about the broader effect of the attacks on India and Pakistan and ALL the innocent lives that were lost as a result of this tragic accident, not just ones at the Jewish center...Next time, please read closely before you throw accusations and innuendos

PS= I am sure I have not heard the last of you and your comments, but once again, thank you for reading the article and for having an opinion.
