Utah Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz is sure trying to make a name for himself-mainly by being a moran. In September he caused a ruckus at the Salt Lake City airport by refusing to go through the body scanning security device. And yes he asked
"Don’t you know who I am?"
along with swearing at a TSA worker and grabbing a supervisor’s badge.
And now he thinks Carrie Prejean would make a great politician! He told TMZ
"[Carrie] has the ability to draw crowds and if she has a strong message to go with that, who knows what she can do? She has star power which can open doors. We’ve all made mistakes when we were 17. [The sex tape] is going to be an impediment, but people are excited about her convictions and her beliefs."
From this comment it’s pretty clear the Republican congressman hasn’t had a chance to catch up on the news-or maybe he only watches Fox!-since it’s been widely reported (except on Fox) that Carrie Prejean made the tapes when she was 20! And lied to reporters, saying she was underage. But Chaffetz is right-no doubt she could stimulate attention and get a rise out of some constituents as she excites them about her beliefs.
