Statement from the movement of Kyrgyz citizens abroad in support of opposition member Isakov
Dangerous political regime turned Kyrgyz Republic into a prison for free people. Anyone who disagrees with Bakiev regime or has a different opinion, who is fighting for the rights and freedoms of the people, who wants to see country free of corruption is being prosecuted. Thousands of honest and open minded folks who advocate human dignity with the right to live freely are inscribed in black "punitive" lists and subjected to severe persecution by regime which is shown with example of illegally arrested Kyrgyz citizens in the city of Balykchy who were brutally tortured.
The case of Ismail Isakov mirrors the current government. Bakiev and "helpers" want to silence an honest man, true patriot of his homeland who initiated important reforms in the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic. The reason was the fact that, General Ismail Isakov, reasonably and directly accused Bakiev in 2002 killings of peaceful demonstrators in the Aksy region of Kyrgyz Republic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aksy . He raised his voice against a consolidation of power in the country, Bakiev and corruption, which became the core of President Bakiev’s family. The regime is persecuting Ismail Isakov, because he courageously decided to put an end to Bakiev’s power which has become a danger to the Kyrgyz Republic.
Who are the judges in the case ? Bakiev associates ? Those who usurped power by fraud and violence. Bakiev who gave the command to kill peaceful Aksy residents and shamefully hid behind the others, knocking his entire blame on somebody else? Who, in the wake of the protesters, the movement which was organized by leaders such as Ismail Isakov, came to power with high promices in 2005? Who, denounced the former president’s policy and in the short term has surpassed him on this part? Who constantly mismanaged and capitalised on wealth of our country in the interests of his own family?
Can Bakiev be a judge? Can he be trusted to select judges?
Whoelse believes in Bakiev justice ? No man of honor and conscience. None!
On the contrary, Bakiev is now facing a severe trial of the Kyrgyz people and history. And this court is fair and his decision will be made. This time will come.
